Granville Mitchell “Mitch” Doyle age 64, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his home in Harrodsburg. He was born in Lexington on November 10, 1961 to the late Bradford Doyle and Pattie J. Wafford (Sanders). Mitch was a Mercer County High School graduate and was a recent employee of Kroger in Harrodsburg. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Growing up, he enjoyed competing in baseball and football. His summers were often spent at the racetrack where he developed a passion for all things with motors. He enthusiastically instilled that passion in his children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew Mitch knew he was blessed with the gift of gab. You may have met him as a stranger, but you did not remain a stranger for long. He had a soft spot for children and would often be found passing out treats. He loved to make people laugh, lighten their moods and was known as a practical joker.
Later, Mitch was fortunate to meet his beloved wife, Karen Anderson Doyle and they were blessed to share forty-six years together. Besides his wife he leaves behind a much-adored daughter, Amanda Doyle Caruso and his best friend and son, Matthew Blake (Carrie) Doyle. He is also survived by two sisters Pascha (Luke) Wright of Danville and Jill (Paul) Ammons of Harrodsburg, five grandchildren Nicholas Lorch of Lexington, Devin (Catalynn) Lorch of Danville, Cameron (Kali) Caruso of Burgin, Aiden Doyle and Anna Grace Doyle both of Harrodsburg and four great grandchildren Gracie Lorch of Perryville, EllaRose Lorch and Remington Lorch both of Danville and Capria Caruso of Burgin and his father and mother-in-law Scottie and Connie Anderson of Danville. Other than his parents Mitch was preceded in death by a son Chase Cameron Doyle. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were truly the joys and delights of his life.
A gathering of family and friends including a few words of comfort expressed by Bro. John David Lane will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg.
