Michael B. Phillips I, age 74, Harrodsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at his home. Born November 17, 1951 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Eileen (Joyce) Phillips. He was a graduate of Mercer County High School and retired from Blackburn Correctional Facility after 27 years. Michael also became an auctioneer working for Addison Crouch, Lee Sims and Jimmy Sexton, all of Harrodsburg. He was a KY Colonel, a collector of antiques and clocks, enjoyed reading Kentucky history, liked to watch UK football and basketball, was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds and LA Dodgers baseball teams and loved Bluegrass and Country music. Michael was a member of the Benton Baptist Church and attended the Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include a son Michael (Mary) B. Phillips II of Jeffersonville, KY; four sisters Elaine Logue, Brenda Sims, Pam Sexton and Nancy (Kenny) Stratton all of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren Gracie Phillips, Alyssa Phillips, Tori Phillips, Lilly Sparks, Xavier Hall and Chandler Estes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Sims Funeral Services by his son Michael B. Phillips II.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 11:00 am until time of services. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are Jerry Mobley, Brennan Sexton, Brian Sims, McKinley Stratton, Barran Sexton, Kason Sexton, and Terry Taylor. Honorary bearers are Kenny Stratton and Deidra Williams.
